I’ve always believed that if its your birthday, its your day. In light of this, I always take off work and treat myself. If there is ever a day to do that..what day but your birthday right?
After graduating college in 2005 with a Bachelor’s in Business, I dabbled in marketing and real estate. Sure enough, every year on January 31st, it was my day and I took off work.
In 2009, it was as if the light switch was turned on when I helped a friend shoot a wedding. On the car ride home, I was mentally exhausted, physically drained, and overwhelmed with complete and total peace. It was the first time in my life I knew this was what I wanted. This was what I had been searching for. Nothing else would ever compare. There is nothing like capturing an image that tells a story. Capturing that special moment between two people and the emotion that compasses it. This is my passion.
I quit my full time job, turned down other offers, and decided to pursue this passion, to fill the longing inside for something more. And my birthday? Well this past year I worked on my birthday. Except it didn’t feel like work. It felt like love..and I LOVE love.
