ATLANTA ENGAGEMENT: JOHN + AMY

September 27, 2011

As we sat in a Buckhead coffee shop, it felt as though we had been old friends. Amy shared stories of her and John. How they had been together for 11 years. How at work one night he was shot in the chest and shouldn’t be alive. How a cell phone in his pocket stopped the bullet from reaching his heart. And how proposed shortly after.

As we sat discussing life, we realized how quickly time had passed and 3 hours later we went our separate ways.

Last weekend, we met again for her and John’s engagement session. I had a great time hanging out  and 3 hours later time had once again escaped us. We wrapped the shoot, hopped in the car and rushed to the Falcon’s game. You know, the first home game agaisnt the Eagles and Vick? That game.

Amy and John, I cannot wait for your wedding at Atlanta Botanical Garden next spring. I have had a blast in the short time that I have spent with you and the way time flies, your wedding will be here before we know it!

Here are some pictures from the day:

Amy you look AH-MAZE-ING!  This is my favorite from the day.

After a wardrobe change we headed over to Piedmont Park.

Here is a little peek of last weekend’s amazing couple:

Matt and Sara,

Could you be any more amazing?! I loved your wedding, creativity, and all the detail put into it. Thank you for letting me be a part of your lives. I hope and am sure that you had an amazing time in the Bahama’s!

Hope you love the pictures! xoxo, Kelly

Seriously Sara, you are STUNNING!

I love love love this image my second shooter Jessica got. Can you say hello amazing light?!

Sara informed me a few days before the wedding of a “surprise” they had planned. While guests were dancing to Thriller, by MJ of course, there was a Zombie Invasion! Here are the pics of how it progressed. Matt bravely saved his bride.

ONE MONTH AGO…

September 14, 2011
For their first date, he took her to Float Away Cafe. Two years later, on her birthday (which happens to be on New Years eve) he proposed there. It had been a tradition in their relationship and a few years ago, it became a tradition for us as a family. We started going on every New Years Eve. To evaluate the year and talk about our resolutions moving forward. It was a time of celebration, love and amazing food. Our first year there, in 2009 Scott shared his resolutions for the year, ” This year,” he said, “I want to enjoy every moment of each and every day.” I remember being touched by what he said and to this day I am often reminded of it. You see just a few months earlier, our worlds were turned upside down. I remember the day like it was yesterday. I remember the weather, where I was, what I was doing… every detail. Scott had been diagnosed with ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

In the 2 years that followed, I watched his body slowly begin to fail him. To make him give up the things he loved. Even the most simplest of tasks. But…no matter what and without fail, Scott found a way to appreciate the little things. To capitalize on an opportunity for a joke. To put a smile on my face. To enjoy the moment. And to treasure it.

One month ago, just a few months after his 49th birthday, Scott unexpectedly passed away in his sleep.

As I sit here, with tear filled eyes and a burning hole in my heart, I am reminded of how grateful I am to have known him and the impact he had on my life. To not take anything for granted. To not sweat the small stuff. Because in the end, it really doesnt matter. We are not promised to tomorrow, but in the meantime his resolution stays close to my heart “to enjoy every moment of each and every day.”

xoxo

Stephanie, Matt, Kamy and Josh,

Thank you for letting me be a part of your special day. After months of correspondence, it was exciting to finally see it all come together.  I so much enjoyed the time I spent with you. Maybe when ya’ll are back at Callaway Gardens, I can come check out the Masters Water Ski Tournament  I have heard so much about and even see Josh in action one day. :) I hope you love the images. You’re family is beautiful.
